“We are looking forward to making an impact on our beautiful beach and on our community,” said Blue Shark Vodka president Brooke Bloomquist. “We chose this weekend because it falls after one of the busiest beach holidays that bring so many people here to celebrate.”
Participants should meet at Johnny Mercer’s Pier by 8:00 a.m. to receive supplies. Coffee will be supplied by Port City Java and disposable gloves from HandGuard. Trash bags, hand sanitizers, and bottle waters will be available, too. The event will be held rain or shine. Adults and children are welcome to participate. And ploggers, too.
All participants will head south on the beach and end at the Blockade Runner Hotel, where Blue Shark Vodka will host a post-sweep celebration from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. with giveaways, light snacks and a sample signature Blue Shark Vodka cocktail for those age 21 and over. No event parking available at the hotel.
