It wasn’t just a hurricane. The water spigot wouldn’t shut off, and the wind fan didn’t stop for 3 days. It was a standing-still-hurricane-and-flood. It wasn’t just one part of North Carolina, it became statewide, and effected parts of South Carolina as well. The power was out for a week. There were no food stores, no gas stations – they were out of business – cut off from the mainland.
It wasn’t a casual storm. It was a product of Climate Change.
As a professional film-maker, he was frequently contracted by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to produce films chronicling floods, fire, oil spills, cancer causing chemical pollutions, nuclear accidents, but has never before been caught in the actual event. His work was well known and consistent in its ability to show what it was, & how it will be corrected.
The Visual Face of Climate Change
His films were for clients, but it was time for a little Payback to the public. We have to understand hurricanes are Our problem, not just an explanation of what happened to others. To focus on this, he intends creating a visual traveling exhibit to appear in art galleries and other public place to present the visual face of climate change. The Master of Disaster Photo/Art Gallery Exhibit will be made up of ferocious eye-catching images to be burned into the mind. They will not be short-lived images. The individual will understand what can really happen to them.
The exhibit will be made up of art media in many forms starting with his preparation of photo-art-collage work he will do to lay the groundwork. The overall intention is there will be join-in participation of those in many fields – artists, sculptors, poets, writers – for a traveling art media show.
To accomplish this, he has started a Go Fund Me proposal to raise the funds for creating images, publicize for participants to enter the exhibit, and promote exhibit to the press, art galleries and public areas that will carry The Face of Climate Change exhibit.
Halloween Hurricane
His photo-art-collage won 6th place out of a 707 art entries in Maryland Federation of Art Landscape exhibit.
